Shalom Ministries began in 1986, when Sister Yarie, now Rev. (Mrs.) Yarie Y Kabia, responded to God’s definite instructions to start an interdenominational ministry geared towards spreading the good news through dynamic ministries. Five years later, in 1991, Sister Yarie had to give up her banking job as led by the Lord and enter into full-time service because of the expansion of the ministry. Its main thrust was teaching, biblical teaching in the Body of Christ, as it was observed that people lacked spiritual depth. In 1989, the Lord revealed about the City of Shalom, and in 1996, after much prayer and under the leadership of the Holy Spirit, twenty acres of land were acquired and finally paid off in 2001. In 1998, Sister Yarie and Rev. Lamin T. Kabia got married, and since then both of them have been running the ministry.
